GSMNP (DAY 6)

WHEN THE RAIN COMES

As the Beatles song said, “when the rains comes, they run and hide their heads” …..well, that is what is happening today. It began raining last night in the mountains and most of the tourist are staying indoors today. But, we have our rain gear on and are heading our into the woods this morning. The cloud cover has softened the light and the rain has made the color on everything really pop out. The temperatures have dropped about 30 degrees and we’ve gone from a high of 85 to 55 degrees for the rest of the week. Rain should last only for today and a bit of tomorrow so we’ll be out getting these great colors the rain has given us the whole day.

We’ll be heading back to the waterfalls and cabins again today to shoot, then maybe head up the mountains into the clouds to shoot some scenes in the mist. Yesterday though, was quite a shooting day. Mark was so intense on getting some shots that he walked right out into the river, getting soaked in the process, to get the shots he wanted. He came away with some incredible shots too and soaking wet feet.
